      Head Coach Pavel Babaev

 
·        Coach Pavel began swimming at the age of 3 and by age 7 was at the top of his age group in St. Petersburg Russia
 
 
·        At age 12 he moved to America and met Coach Mac Kennedy and has been with Swim Florida ever since…
 
 
·      At a Lehigh Senior HS, he was rookie of the year, a 3 time MVP, 4 year varsity award recipient, scholar athlete, all conference team member, and 1st place winner at the 2000 state meet in the 50YRD Freestyle.
 
 
·       In 2001 Coach Pavel received a scholarship to Florida Atlantic University and broke the team records in the 50 free, 200 free relay, 200 medley relay, and 400 medley relay.
 
 
·      Awarded Sunbelt Conference swimmer of the week on several occasions
  
 
·       Graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Services with a major in Health Administration from the College of Business
 
 
·      Qualified for US Open in summer of 2009 in the 50 M LC free, Earned 10th place with a time of 22.77
 
 
·    In addition to coaching Coach Pavel is currently volunteering for FGCU women’s swim team for head coach Neal Studd and assisting him with dry land, weight room and sprinting routines.
 
 
Coach Pavel has an amazing track record and has definitely proven himself, he is very dedicated to swimming as his full time career, his motivation & determination will strengthen our team and take it to new levels….
 
 
Coach Pavel plans to have all swimmers participate in dry land daily so moving forward please have tennis shoes at practice. For the more advanced swimmers we plan to have some morning practices available in the future. Updated practice schedule will be available from Coach Pavel.
